Synopsis: Novice theatrical producers Barry Granville and Pinky Blair secure funding for a show by hiring British star Jane Clark for the lead. Meeting the ship from England, the men mistake American college student Jane Clarke for the actress. Interested in acting, Jane pretends to be the star. Despite her efforts, Jane can barely act, and she confesses to Barry. Meanwhile, the English Jane places the future of the show in jeopardy when she threatens to sue.
