Synopsis: A rebellious young man from Boston's Southy neighborhood works below his potential as a janitor at MIT. After he secretly solves the answer to a complex math question left on a blackboard one night, a problem that has stumped the "brightest" young minds in the country, a professor figures out that he did it, tracks him down, pronounces him a genius, and takes him under his wing. He's enrolled at MIT and given all sorts of support for being a brainiac, but his Southy friends don't understand and soon turn on him. The snooty MIT types don't cotton to him much either. And soon the biggest problem he must solve is the riddle of his life.
