If only all TV shows (and their DVDs) were this good...

DVDGuy, Australia (Reviewer Ranking: 4) wrote this review on October 16, 2004:
Band of Brothers is more like a long movie, than a TV show. The production values, the cast, crew are just amazing, and the DVD isn't bad either. Although it features some of the same people behind Saving Private Ryan, I felt this show was more accessible with better characters (SPR wasn't long enough to get to know all the characters, which is essential for war movies featuring a large cast). And because the characters are based on real people, it makes it all feel more authentic.
This is the most expensive DVD set in my collection (The Godfather comes close, although I bought it when it just came out and it has dropped in price since), and with good reason. The tin case gives the package full points for presentation. The video quality is superb, with a HD feel to it. The audio is something you would expect from a big budget movie. And the extras are informative and entertaining (especially "Ron Livingston's Video Diaries"). A must have for war buffs and fans of good TV shows.
