This turbo-charged sci-fi/action blow-out features a cyborg from the future protecting a young boy. Big-budget feel, innovative story, dazzling effects, and relentless pacing make this a modern action classic.

Lots of content, too little testing

DVDGuy, Australia (Reviewer Ranking: 4) wrote this review on October 16, 2004:
This is one of my favorite movies, not because it was the best movie ever made, but it was one of those movies that advanced the genre somewhat when it was released. Just like Star Wars and those space sequences, T2 had those brilliant computer effects and the bad guy turned good aspect of it was very appealing to me.
I bought this DVD from Amazon.com as a pre-order for $20 with the tin casing, and a week after the release, the price went up to $30, so I was very happy.
Unfortunately, the DVD interface had too many bugs for me to enjoy properly (although I must add that most recent DVD players should play this one fine, and it did come with a warning note inside the case). The video looked good back then, but probably a bit too soft when compared to the latest Extreme Edition transfer (the DVD version, not the HD version). The audio sounds fantastic, loud and clear as it should be. The extras are great, if you are able access them properly through the menu interface that is. This is the only version of the movie I currently own (just ordered the Extreme Edition to test out the HD content), and overall, I'm pretty happy with it.
