Synopsis: Mexican day laborer Chu Chu Ramirez has just obtained his U.S. citizenship. Convinced that all his troubles are behind him, Ramirez gets a job working for farmer Ansel Ames and his emotionally-troubled wife. After work, Ramirez courts local barfly Nancy. Despite Ramirez's optimism and hard work, farmer Ames eventually takes advantage of his trust, and Ramirez finds himself the victim of the same justice system he once lauded.
