Synopsis: Outraged when stern Judge Cornelia Porter rules in favor of his extravagant wife in their divorce, newspaper magnate Judson Blair hires unruly reporter Jeff Sherman to provoke a scandal with the judge. Pretending to be married, Jeff follows Cornelia to Cape Cod and assumes the studio and identity of a local sculptor to impress her. Although Cornelia initially resists Jeff's overtures, she soon softens and, to Jeff's surprise, so does he.
