Synopsis: Young Czech immigrant Karel Novak loses the small amount of money he has when he attempts to enter the United States and ends up penniless on the streets of New York at the height of the Great Depression. Sympathetic chorus girl Sylvia Dennis and her teenage brother, Frank, take pity on the young man, but their attempts to help him cause unwanted trouble for themselves that could get the orphaned Frank sent to a foster home.
