Synopsis: Letter carrier Ben Harris broods about the emptiness and injustice of life in his small basement apartment in Greenwich Village. One day he decides to lash out by kidnapping a beautiful young girl, but is disappointed when he all can find is 40-something housewife Gloria Fiske. It turns out, though, that Gloria is just as dissatisfied as Ben, and the two develop a growing rapport as they share their tales of alienation and misanthropy.
