Synopsis: In 1850s Massachusetts, young Joel Shore and his family await the return of seagoing brothers Mark, Noah and Matthew. The reunion includes Joel's longtime friend Priscilla. When Mark expresses interest in Priscilla, his father happily arranges their engagement, unaware of Joel's feelings for her. All four brothers set off to sea soon after, and the romantic conflict becomes an issue that threatens to tear them apart.
