Synopsis: In working-class Dublin, the factories provide a meager income -- though not for Quackser Fortune, whose chosen career is collecting horse manure and selling it as fertilizer. But the days of horse-drawn buggies are numbered, and his old-fashioned career is threatened. Then an American exchange student almost runs him over, and Quackser falls headlong in love. When the girl returns home, Quackser decides to follow her, headed for the Bronx.
