Sci-fi noir traces a 21st-century cop who is forced out of retirement to track down rebel androids. Attacked by one, he is saved by their creator's sexy android assistant. When the inventor is killed, he corners the culprits for a final bloody confrontation. The 1992 director's cut ditched the voice over, added a dream sequence, and excised the happy ending.
