Synopsis: After being tortured by SS Officer Haake for helping Jews elude the Nazis, Austrian surgeon Dr. Ravic escapes from a concentration camp and flees to pre-occupation Paris, where he lives in exile. When Ravic prevents singer Joan Madou from a suicidal jump off a bridge, a passionate love affair ensues. But just as his life is looking up, Ravic's desire for revenge is reawakened when he encounters his nemesis Haake at a Paris cafe.
