Howards of Virginia, The Synopsis: When his impoverished past is uncovered, Matt Howard is promptly fired by the Peytons, a wealthy family in Williamsburg during the Revolutionary War era. Undeterred, Matt returns to court the family's daughter, Jane, and the two marry and raise a family in the Virginia backwoods, infuriating the Peytons. The birth of a crippled son results in years of tension between Matt and Jane, and, when Matt decides to join the army, Jane makes a stunning decision.
