Synopsis: Teenager Annie Rooney chafes at the lack of attention from her distracted boyfriend, Joey. One evening on the way to a party, Joey rear-ends the car of wealthy Marty White Jr.. Smitten, Annie accepts a ride from Marty to the party, where she delights him by teaching him to jitterbug. Annie begins dating Marty, but she is brought up short when his family refuses to invite her to his birthday party because of her working-class, eccentric father.
