Synopsis: Wealthy young John Woolfolk copes with his wife's recent death by sailing his small schooner along the Eastern Seaboard with first mate Paul Halvard. Searching for fresh water near the Georgia coast, John discovers a decrepit mansion owned by elderly hermit Litchfield Stope, and falls for his beautiful granddaughter, Millie, angering the brutish escaped prisoner who has bullied his way into the Stopes' home.
