Synopsis: The biblical story of Salome comes to life under the deft hand of master Spanish filmmaker Carlos Saura, cinema's premier director of dance on film. Here his deft touch brings to the tale of lust, ambition and spite great dramatic, heart-pounding flare through the performance of famed, consummate flamenco dancer and actress Aida Gomez as Salome. Enriched by a lively musical score from Roque Banos (Sexy Beast, Perfect Crime), the film garnered a Goya (Spain's Oscar) for "Best Song" while the film was given the award for "Best Artistic Contribution" by the Montreal Film Festival.
