Synopsis: As sisters Emily, Charlotte and Anne Brontë all work on their novels, they each face their own series of tragedies. Both Charlotte and Anne fall in love with handsome Arthur Nicholls, and Emily struggles to keep their troubled brother, Branwell, away from the bottle so he can focus on his painting. While happiness eludes them, all three sisters use their personal heartache as inspiration for their writing.
