Synopsis: Davy and Harry MacKenzie are orphaned brothers who live with their gruff grandfather, James, in 1900s Nova Scotia. Life for the boys is less than agreeable, until one day they find an unusual item on the beach: a baby. Determined to bring the child up on their own, away from the influence of their unpleasant grandfather, Davy and Harry make off with the infant -- which begins a desperate search by the authorities and the child's parents.
