Synopsis: Michael Caine stars in the first leading role of his career as Harry Plalmer, a stubornly insolent Sergeant working for the MOD who is transferred to an elite counter-intelligence unit. Palmer is less than thrilled when he finds he is replacing a murdered man, but is blackmailed into staying by his CO with knowledge of previous indiscretions in Berlin. Twist follows twist as Palmer and the rest of the unit hunt for a missing scientist. And when Palmer finds a piece of tape marked "IPCRESS" he becomes a marked man.
