Synopsis: Bicycle Pete is a lonely and deranged backwoodsman living rough near the Pennsylvania town of Shade Gap. Out of a perverse idea of love, he kidnaps young Peggy Ann Bradnick and takes her deep into the wilderness. Despite her fear Peggy Ann develops sympathy for the man who has abducted her, and recognizes his humanity even as she seeks an escape. Meanwhile, numerous law enforcement agencies fan out across the state searching for the missing girl.
