Synopsis: It's the last day of World War II and Thomas Noonan is drafted into the army. He is sent to a decommissioned military facility, kept open just for him, where Sgt. Peter Marshall is assigned to administer basic training. While there, Noonan falls for Marshall's fiancée, movie star Lili Marlene. But the boys then get sent to Japan, and end up on a deserted island with two Japanese sailors who don't know the war is over.
