Synopsis: The first in a slew of films concerning intrepid reporter Torchy Blane of the Morning Herald, this lighthearted mystery opens with the murder of businessman Tiny Torgenson. As Torchy gets the scoop on the killing, and her police detective beau, Steve McBride, investigates the case, the two begin to suspect nightclub owner Fitz Mularkey and his singer sweetie, Dolly Ireland, of having a hand in the crime.
