Synopsis: Based on the early life of Irish playwright and notorious socialist Sean O'Casey, the film follows O'Casey through the sordid underbelly of Dublin where he gets his first taste of the social injustices that would later inspire his work. Along the way he joins strikes, runs afoul of local law enforcement and has a relationship with prostitute Daisy Battles. Eventually O'Casey meets bookshop assistant Nora who helps channel his rage into the theater.
