Synopsis: Having been raised by Nez Perce tribe member Ol' Antoine, rancher Smith's sympathy for Native Americans is well known. When young Indian Gabriel is falsely accused of murder, he takes refuge on Smith's land rather than turn himself in to Deputy Sheriff Vince. Though initially convinced Gabriel will receive a fair trial, Smith is forced to stand up for the young boy after both he and Ol' Antoine are arrested by the racist authorities.
