Synopsis: In a Chicago neighborhood where residents are desperate for a change of direction, the chance to change themselves -- but only by a scant three inches -- offers instant hope. When a hardware store owner loses his family in a tragic accident, he's granted the authority by God to help anyone who comes into his store and buys a folding ruler. Of course, the choices these lucky few make reveal much about the ways of human nature.
