Synopsis: Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal) commands the screen as Michael Kohlhaas, a humble horse merchant and loving family man who is left with no choice but to take matters into his own hands after he is cheated by a callous baron and befallen by tragedy. When the courts reject his plea for justice, Kohlhaas resorts to the sword, mounting an army of laborers from the neighboring countryside and embarking on a deadly crusade against an unjust society.
