Joe "Coop" Cooper & Doug Reimer (Parker & Stowe) invent a game which consisted of basketball with baseball type rules, the game goes on to become a success across the country. The only obstacle is a self-centered owner of the defending champion Dallas team (Vaughn) who wants to buy Coop & Reimer's Milwaukee Beers team and move it to Jacksonville.
