Synopsis: E. Nesbit's story comes to life in this moving film. The happy lives of the well-to-do Waterbury children are suddenly shattered when their father (Iain Cuthbertson) is arrested on spying charges and imprisoned. Confused and plunged into poverty, Bobbie (Jenny Agutter), Peter (Gary F. Warren) and Phyllis (Sally Thomsett) go to live in a rough country cottage with their sick mother (Dinah Sheridan).
