Synopsis: This BBC documentary series tackles one of World War II's -- and history's -- most disquieting and repugnant subjects: the Holocaust and its infamous killing factory, the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. The six-part program begins with the creation of the camp, which was set up by Nazis to specialize in the atrocious industrialized extermination of more than a million Jews, and ends with the camp's eventual liberation.
