Synopsis: The CBS Evening News is a TV institution, having some of the most well-known journalists in the world anchor it through its many decades on the air. It's currently anchored by veteran newsman Katie Couric, who takes over from Bob Schieffer. The half hour show covers both international and domestic news.
In early 2005, Dan Rather retired as anchor of The CBS Evening News. Shortly after, Bob Schieffer, a veteran newsman took over until September 2006.
