Synopsis: In this 16 part series, Lords of the Mafia presents a stark and unglamorous picture of organized crime’s global phenomenon. What is it? Where did it come from? How does it effect everyday people? Each episode looks at a specific gang within organized crime and shows viewers how that group operates and how it is ruled by its own "lord." Also chronicled are law enforcement’s battles against the gangsters — a war in which the police are often out-gunned, out-manned and out-financed.
