Synopsis: When a swordsman, Toh Hong, returns home to find his family slaughtered, he goes on a quest to find the killer. Along the way, he is blinded while getting caught up in the politics of rival warlords. Veteran martial arts film director Cheung Yam Yim (who directed Jet Li to stardom in his smash hit "Shaolin Temple") aspires to have Yellow River Fighter achieve the grandeur of an Akira Kurosawa film with the graceful kung fu acrobatics of the classic Shaw Brothers films and succeeds with style to spare.
