Synopsis: In the wake of her death, the embittered children of Chinese-American matriarch Mrs. Xiao begrudgingly return to their childhood home for a bristly -- and brief, they hope -- reunion. But after Xiao's maid and sole confidant, Viola, reveals her wish to undergo a week-long Buddhist funeral rite, the younger Xiaos -- including plastic surgeon Alexander and lesbian actress Meimei -- have seven days to come to terms with her death, and each other.
