Synopsis: Ranch foreman Gene Autry brings Walt Bailey a strawberry roan. Walt wants his son, Joe, to break the wild stallion, but Joe is inexperienced and can't handle the horse. He is thrown, trampled and disabled as a result. Walt tries to kill the horse, but it runs off. Joe, now using a wheelchair, becomes depressed. Gene goes after the horse and secretly trains it. He returns with the transformed stallion, renamed Champ, and uses it to raise Joe's spirits.
