Synopsis: Behind the perfect family facade and glamorous lifestyle, Brooke Hayward is miserable. Her mother, famous actress Margaret Sullavan, is trying to keep her crumbling marriage together, but her depression and insecurity are taking over. Brooke's father, Broadway playwright Leland Hayward, is emotionally cruel and tries to buy her love with expensive gifts.
