Synopsis: This highly acclaimed saga of feudal Japan fuses a meditative visual style to the intriguing story of a principled samurai (Etsushi Toyokawa) who commits a startling and bloody act in the aftermath of a performance of Noh. Dispatched into exile, the swordsman is allowed to return to the royal court as a bodyguard.
