Synopsis: The head priest at a Catholic boy's school (Richard Burton) becomes the target of persistent abuse and cruel practical jokes by two of his best pupils (Dai Bradley, Dominic Guard), including a murder confession. But when a real body suddenly turns up, the priest finds himself brutally torn between his religious vows and the call of justice. Written by playwright Anthony Shaffer (The Wicker Man), the film also marked the screen debut of Billy Connolly.
