Way We Laughed, The
From the director of Lamerica comes the epic story of two brothers who emigrate to the northern Italian city of Turin, to escape the poverty of their Sicillian hometown. Told over a period of six years, from 1958 to 1964, the sotry unfolds into a series of chapters (Arrivals, Betrayals, Money, Letters, and Blood), each representing one year in the brother's lives.
The older, illiterate brother Giovanni (Enrico Lo Verso) has an extraordinary desire to see his beloved brother Pietro (Francesco Guffrida) become a school teacher. He makes tremendous sacrifices to earn money for Pietro's education, totally unaware that he's been skipping school and squandering his book money.
