Ghost Dog: The Map Of The Samarai
Forest Whitaker stars as a modern-day assassin who adheres to Hagakure, “The Way of the Samarai.†Pledging his life to the low-level mob boss who saved his life eight years earlier, he carries out hits for the mafia and communicates only by carrier pigeon. But when his former employers order his death, he is caught between his code, which states that he will never cause harm to come to his master, and his desire to live. Eccentric directior Jim Jarmusch (“Dead Manâ€) directed this oddball take on gangster films and samarai customs.
