Synopsis: In this Italian war action film a German soldier takes on the identity of a dead German soldier, Sergeant Klems, to keep from being shot for desertion. Eight years later, Klems is fighting in the French foreign legion in Morocco. He deserts to meet the real Sergeant Klems' wife. On his way back to his unit, he is caught in a sand storm and captured by an Arab warrior. Just as he is about to be killed by them, he is recognized by an Arab friend of his from the German army. The Arabs begin to trust Klems and he teaches then how to use modern weapons and tactics in their fight against the invading Spanish army. Klems eventually is accepted as a fellow Arab, assuming yet another identity.
