Synopsis: First-time director Ulrich Kohler perfectly captures the angst, anger, and alienation of youth in this delightfully droll dramedy. A German youth—more slacker than soldier—goes AWOL from military service and returns to his parents’ summer home. There he falls for his brother’s girlfriend, a Danish actress in b-movies.
As offbeat as it is low key, Bungalow offers a window into the restless yet idle world of modern youth. Young viewers can relate, while mature viewers will be thankful it’s not them!
