Though I still don\'t know what to make of the last shot, Pontypool is ambiguous in the best sense of the word. I interpret Pontypool a little differently each time I watch it based largely upon my own frame of mind while viewing, not unlike the very best of fellow Canadian David Cronenberg\'s filmography. Go along with the film\'s central conceit (you\'ll know . . . ) and you\'ll have a blast with this unorthodox stab at the undead sub-genre. Historically, those Canadians seem to have a knack for uniquely disturbing genre films, and based upon the red flags thrown up by the cinematic evidence, Americans just might be worried about the wrong border. Pontypool is based upon a book by Tony Burgess entitled Pontypool Changes Everything, and Burgess and director Bruce McDonald are developing a sequel -- Pontypool Changes -- tentatively slated for a 2013 release.
